10,000 Steps to Good Health

Everyone would like their health to be good but not everyone has enough time to get in proper work outs and ensure that this is possible. This is actually why some health experts are advocating the ten thousand step method. The idea is that you take at least ten thousand steps each day (walking) which can help you get very healthy and cut down on the time that is required for exercise. Walking is great physical exercise and really low impact. How often have you heard a doctor say “just a single walk around the block helps your health”?

Obviously walking ten thousand steps each day won’t be simple. That’s a lot! The very good news is that you are already likely taking ten thousand steps everyday without realizing it. What you need to do is figure out how to incorporate a few more thousand steps to get to the objective. So how do you accomplish that without resorting to merely strolling back and forth for hours on end?

Increasing the step count can be achieved easily utilizing these obvious methods. Taking the stairway as an alternative to riding the elevator is a basic example of this. Parking at the far end of the parking lot can also be advisable at the mall or the store. You may also simply run all of your purchases out to the car or truck once you buy them rather then carting them around from store to store as you shop and take care of your errands. Using public transport is fantastic for increasing your step count since you have to walk to the bus stop and back instead of just to and from the car. Obviously, just getting a short walk each day is also wise.

Some less evident methods to increase your step count are also available. Plan a grocery store grocery list differently. Most individuals will write out a grocery list in accordance with the aisles in the stores. Organize your list in groups like dairy, meat, produce, snacks, etc. Then shop as outlined by the order of the list. You could find yourself criss crossing the store several times but it’s a fantastic way to increase your step count. Instead of having a mail box in your door or attached to your home, install it on a post close to the curb. This can easily put at least one or two dozen steps to your count when you check the mail every day.

Increasing your step count can be achieved in several ways. As you become familiar with the idea of walking 10,000 steps a day you’ll think of great ways to accomplish this goal faster. The nice thing is that all the steps you take each day count-walking to the fridge, the copy machine to and from your car-they all count for your goal. Have fun with it!
